Carrying the Ball

There is a World War II Veteran, from Lynchburg, that served in the famous 'Red Ball Express' pushing supplies forward from the Normandy beaches. He attends the Friday gatherings at Monument Terrace, in Lynchburg, and it has been my privilege to get to know him.

I am taken with the contributions of the American Men and Women, of Color, during World War II.  They served and fought valiantly for a Country that did not treat them well - and yet they believed in the righteousness of the cause.
